9 Mill Bank is a bijou, 16th Century cottage lying alongside the River Avon close to Tewkesbury Abbey, in one of Gloucestershire's most picturesque, medieval settings. Its unique location disguises its close proximity to the heart of the town and the full range of facilities and attractions available. Recently refurbished and retaining many original features, it offers both comfort and convenience in an "olde worlde" setting. With outstanding, uninterrupted views over the Severn Ham to the Malvern Hills, this is the ideal place to relax and "chille oute".

Ground floor: (approx. 10'x18') Lounge with sofa/bed and kitchenette, including Art Nouveau range with open fire. Steep, curving stairs leading to ~

First floor: (approx. 9'x16') Double bedroom with half-bath and door leading to toilet with hand basin.

Please note that access could be difficult for disabled persons.

Services include storage heaters, TV/DVD, free WiFi, compact cooker, microwave and fridge. Electricity included in tariff.

Parking

There is free, unlimited, on-street parking available just around the corner in Mill Street and we do provide a permit for the nearby (250 metres) Tewkesbury Borough Council, Gloucester Road Long Stay Car Park, where we park our vehicles. Parking is permitted on the double yellow lines outside the cottage, whilst unloading.

About Tewkesbury

Whilst being a thriving riverside town, Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire is a living Museum of Tudor architecture and social history spanning over 500 years and in 1964 The Council of British Archaeology listed it amongst 57 towns "so splendid and so precious that the ultimate responsibility for them should be of national concern".

Tewkesbury offers a good selection of speciality shops, antique shops, tea and coffee shops, inns, pubs and restaurants.

Leisure

Golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling, bike hire, bowling and angling are all available nearby. Boat trips are available throughout the main holiday season.

The Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon, Worcester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, The Forest of Dean and The Malvern Hills. A variety of local inns and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

  • Nearest Bus Stops: The Crescent, Church Street by the Abbey and at the far end of the High Street.

Events

Every year Tewkesbury plays host to thousands of Medieval re-enactors who come to the town for the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, a fantastic, free event which climaxes each day with a full scale re-enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury of 1471. The 12 stair, curving staircase, 2’ 3” (70cm) wide, has a fairly steep gradient; there are good handrails and handgrips

The cottage is not suitable for disabled access or toddlers
